Avalon Circuit

Play Avalon Circuit — Free Online Territory Game

Play Avalon Circuit free online: a territory game where you drive a chariot of bound daylight and close a ring of light around the grey Evermist. Thirty Arthurian story chapters, rival riders who cut your ribbon, and Princess Guinevere waiting in the Obsidian Keep. No download, no sign-up, plays on phone and desktop.

Morgan le Fay walked out of the orchard with the Evermist trailing from her sleeves. Where it touched, the island forgot what colour it was. You have one chariot of bound daylight, six in the stable and thirty chapters of the Avalon cycle to ride. Close a ring of light around the grey and the ground remembers itself — leave the ring open and the mist keeps it. Princess Guinevere is in the Obsidian Keep on the far shore, and the only road there is one you paint yourself.

Avalon Circuit is a territory game in the paper.io family, rebuilt from scratch for the browser. You share a square island with rival riders, and the island is the scoreboard: there is no health bar and no finish line, only the share of the map that answers to your colour when the clock stops.

How to play

  1. Ride out. Drive off your own land and a ribbon of daylight unspools behind you. You are vulnerable for every pixel of that ribbon.
  2. Close the ring. Curve back until the ribbon touches your territory. Everything the mist cannot reach from the outside — flood-filled inward from the border — flips to your colour in one go.
  3. Your own ribbon is a lane, not a blade. Crossing your own line is safe. Only walls, obsidian pillars, wyrd-wisps and a rival's ribbon can end a run.
  4. Hold Space to burn daylight. Boost is half again as fast and drains a stamina bar. It is how you out-run a rider who has decided to cut you.
  5. Reach the chapter's share before the clock. Sixteen percent on the misty shore, twenty-six by the Obsidian Keep. Every ten percent reclaimed rolls out a fresh chariot, up to nine in hand.

The four acts of the Avalon cycle

IV · The Obsidian Keep25–3025% → 26%215–250s2–3

The riders rotate with the act, so each one feels like a different gang: Fen Wisp and Thorn Rider on the shore, Grey Herald and Briar Knight between the frozen orchards, Iron Tide and the Causeway Ghost on the drowned road, and — inside the Keep — Morgan's Hand and the Mirror Knight. Wyrd-wisps start appearing in Act II and only take riders who are standing on unclaimed grey, which is exactly where the best harvest is. Three stars means you beat the time a sharp rider sets, and an Eternal Circuit keeps the island coming once Guinevere is free.

Avalon Circuit FAQ

How do you play Avalon Circuit?

Drive out from your own land, curve around a patch of grey and come back. The moment your ribbon touches your territory again the ring closes, and every cell the mist cannot reach from the outside becomes yours. Steer with the arrow keys or A and D, hold Space to burn daylight and go faster, and drag anywhere on the board on a touchscreen.

What happens if a rival rider touches my ribbon?

You fall. A rival who crosses the line you are laying takes you out and keeps whatever they enclosed, so a long ribbon is a bet: the further you reach, the more you stand to win and the more you are offering to anyone watching. Your own ribbon is safe to cross — you only lose land to a crash or to a rival.

Is Avalon Circuit free and does it need a download?

It is free and it runs entirely in the browser. There is no download, no install and no account. It plays on desktop with a keyboard and on phones or tablets with touch, and it saves your progress and stars locally on your own device.

What makes the difficulty go up?

Four things rise together as you go. The share of the island you must claim grows from sixteen percent to twenty-six percent, the clock stays roughly the same size, more rival riders join with sharper reactions, and the hazards get meaner: obsidian pillars that grind you to a stop, and roaming wyrd-wisps that only take riders who are standing on unclaimed grey — which is exactly where a good harvest is.

Do I have to win every chapter to finish the story?

You have to reach the chapter's share of the island before the clock runs out, and you have to keep at least one chariot. Chapters unlock in order, so the story is told in sequence: the misty shore, the glass meadows, the broken causeway and the Obsidian Keep. Stars are separate — three stars means you beat the time a sharp rider sets, so a chapter can be cleared and still worth replaying.

Can I earn extra chariots?

Yes. Every ten percent of the island you reclaim rolls a fresh chariot out of the mist, up to nine in hand. Cutting a rival down does not give you one, so the reward for aggression is land rather than lives.
